I know it's possible, but RFW main design goal is and was SPEED! :)

Takeing a look at your provided files:

Standard CRC32 output:

  TV_SPOIL.BIN 958 ---- 30.05.1994 47C5E5EF
  TV.COM 958 ---- 30.05.1994 47C5E5EF

Contents of RFW.LST:

  C:\TMP\TODO\TV_SPOIL.BIN, 958, CRC=D96A7585/2BA3F232
  C:\TMP\TODO\TV.COM, 958, CRC=110CDB35/07B02F64

As you can see, RFW uses an other CRC32 poly, as well as the short CRC32
 is also different...

 >> 3.) Smart File Renamer: RFW has the same "smartrename" function
 >> RFW recognizes batch, COM/EXE/SYS/IMG/BIN, DOC, XLS files.
PF> Could you add OBJ, ZIP, Teledisk images and CopyQM images ?

Sure, send me format descriptions and I will add them to RFW. ZIP support
is availiable since version 0.82

PF> It seems that in RFW v0.82.2 "RFW -renumber -all ." goes into an
PF> infinite loop. In some cases, I've yet to reproduce, it renames
PF> the same files in a directory over an over, always increasing the
 PF> sequence number

Try RFW 0.82.7 or 0.83 - I did a lot of bug fixes in the Smart-Rename
section!

You need for this task a database (default rfw.dat and rfw.lst). Simply
create a small one with "-add" and a few files or use the standard database
that should be supplied with RFW. You also can try rfw16 -uniq (should
delete empty folders AND dupes).
